I'm so glad you brought these up. To me, those narratives are an essential (and sadly often overlooked - just like titles) part of the creative process and the overall experience. Makes me happy to know other people appreciate them like I do.

It's a balance isn't it? I agree with you that books are still very relevant - maybe even more relevant - in this day and age. I can't say I spend enough time reading them - not as much as I'd like to - but that has more to do with a general lack of time to do so than a lack of will to do so. Maybe one day...


I always try to keep the narratives attached to my images relatively succinct since I'm aware that people won't take the time to read them if they are too long anyway. But I do try to make them long enough so that it provides a bit of context and enough information and material to stir the imagination of the reader.
